January 2011-- New Designs, New Ideas

My mom and I have had ideas rolling around in our heads for years. This year we have finally decided to make them happen. Mom doesn't do much on a technical side, but she has all the artistic skills that I'll never have so we're a good balance for each other :) We have decided to collaborate and launch our first in a series of new designs. Each month we will launch a new design. Sometimes they will be embroidery, sometimes quilting (emphasis on applique), some cross-stitch, etc. Sometimes we might even get ambitious and put out more than one project in a month! (As I type this my mother says "yeah, right!) All designs will be available for the month they are launched as a free download, and available for purchase after that.

Anyway, we decided to launch our January project as something that can be used in February. This first design is for the center of a wall hanging. We will launch the embroidery design first, and we will reveal our pieced version on January 15th. On February 1, the pattern will be available for purchase, and will include the embroidery pattern, as well as the templates for completing the design in applique.

I hope you will enjoy what we have in store for you! Every month will be different, so you never know what you might fall in love with!

January's project is an embroidery project. Mom has always been a fantastic artist (we have had a few of them in the family tree). She designed this Valentine's Day princess ready for a Sweetheart Ball. Since my birthday is in February she decided to name her "Jennifer". (Awwww) You can download the pattern at the link below

January

Here is a closeup view of her ballgown:

Here is an up close view of her face. Everything is stitched using a stem stitch, with French Knots in the highlight of the eyes, and nose. The rest of the eye is done using a stem stitch outline and fill-in.

Here is a closeup view of her purse, which was done using a lazy daisy chain stitch.

"Jennifer" is available for download for free until January 31, 2011, and available for purchase as a double pattern for applique and embroidery February 1, 2011 for 15.95 for download. Shipping charges will apply if you prefer a paper pattern.

"Jennifer" is truly stunning! (Love-love-love!)

BUT... when I try to download the pattern from scribd, I'm told I must be a Facebook user. Is that your intent? Is this a Facebook-only offering?

I loved the pattern, too. Thank you. I also am not a Facebook user, and have no intention of becoming one, but I found a way around that.

This is Je3nnifer's mom. Please bear with us. She is working on the download problem and this will be left up long enough for everyone to get it or she will email it to you. Don't worry we are sensible people. We should have had the photos dowenloadable too. And I forgot to tell you to put the embroidery on a 14 1/2 inch piece of fabric. I am working on the pieced part (the rest of the pattern for the wall hanging) and it should be up on Jan. 15. I already have next months designing done. it will also be a wall hanging but totally different from my girl. Thank you so much for liking my design. See my smile???

This is such a cute pattern. (I wish I could download it.) The entire BOM sounds intriguing what with all the different types of projects that will be available. I hope you can get the download portion of the blog fixed soon. Thanks for creating this and making it available for all of us.

I like this pattern, but I have no intention of following facebook in order to obtain this pattern. Sorry, I'm a paralegal - wouldn't touch facebook or my space w/10 foot pole.
