New design underway....

So I finally got my website launched. Design part is sloooowwww going since I really don't know what I'm doing and don't have tons of time to devote to it. I want to redesign the blog to match the website, which is not completely done yet either so both will be in a "limbo" status for awhile.

Army ACU purse

I designed this Army ACU purse for an Army wife who wanted it to look like the ACU uniform, but with a touch of femine style. I made the front pockets functional (as much as can be with a slanted pocket) with velcro closures, pockets along each side on the outside, and the inside has a pocket on the upper inside back, as well as 3 more pockets along the front inside panel. It is lightweight, has velcro nametapes and rank so they can be changed, a sewn on flag patch on one side, and unit patch on the other side.

This pattern was one of those that I instantly fell in love with when I saw a fellow quilter make several as gifts. Start to finish this only took me about 3 hours, which is really good for a first time pattern. Now that I've made one the next ones will go alot faster. Anyway, I'm rather pleased with the result. The interior has pockets all along both the front and back sides. I made 3 pockets along one side, and the other has 2 pen/pencil slots, plus 2 more pockets perfectly sized for a little memo pad and my cell phone.

Next one I make will (of course) be in Air Force ABU fabric for myself but I need to order another nametape for it. :)
